Our practice task explained (post 1)



My group; me, Lily, Daisy and Tazmin were randomly given fairy tale or nursery rhyme, and a question. The fairy tale which we were given was 'The Tortoise and the Hare' and the question we were given was 'What is your favourite colour?'.

Our initial idea was to use the Fairy tale 'The Tortoise and the Hare' in our music video practise task. What our group came up with was to film a race between the tortoise and the hare running around the town using some slow motion shots and fast motion shots in order to create tension. A brief story of the tortoise and the hare is a Hare who ridicules a slow-moving Tortoise. Tired of the Hare's boastful behaviour, the Tortoise challenges him to a race. The hare soon leaves the tortoise behind and, confident of winning, takes a nap midway through the race. When the Hare awakes however, he finds that his competitor, crawling slowly but steadily, has arrived before him. Therefore, what we thought we could do is dress two characters up in the costumes of the animals.

CHANGE OF PLANS

Pretty quickly after going through and planning these ideas, we soon realised the scale of the
project that we would be taking on, if we did undertake one of these ideas. So, we reconvened and
asked ourselves weather we wanted to use this as our final project, and develop it further on or if
we wanted to do something else for our final film. This made us become aware of the fact that we
actually didn't like these ideas, and wanted to do something completely different for our final music
video. As a group, we don't like to waste time so we decided to come up with our final music video
idea now and slowly experiment with it, trying different ways we could do it, to lead up to our final
film. LR

Research into existing student made video ( post 3 )

If  had a gun - A2 media studies music video (A Grade): Creativity  I feel this particular student made music video is very creative in the way they have used many different camera shots and angles. for example they have used an ordinary wide shot but rewinded making it look like a times lapse. moreover, they have also used close up, pan shot, wide shot, and extreme close up.   setting/location The setting of the music video seems to start in a town or a city (possibly a quite part of the town/city as we are only exposed to a busy road with not a lot of buildings or shops). however, this then changes about 37 seconds in when we see an extreme close up of a pair of shoes on sand which we assume to be a beach. Then, the location changes again about a minute and half in to the music video when we see the character in a cemetery. then for the rest of the music video we are also exposed to a car park and another street within a city or a town.  cos...
