Planning : Storyboards (Post 31)

Storyboards:

As part of the planning for production I constructed some storyboards to give me a clearer idea of what the different shots will look like and give me a clear plan for when I go into filming. It gives me a shot by shot breakdown of what I need to film and helps me finalise the plot so can I can picture what I need to do, making filming go smoother.

I am not the best at drawing so I have labelled each section so I can explain clearly what is going on:

1) The beginning of the video will start with the name of the song and band appearing on the screen in a typewriter fashion, with a filter and a font to make it seem more vintage.
2)There will be a panning shot of the city to set the scene, it will be a tilt going from the floor into the air and will be a slightly longer shot.
3)Then there will be a similar shot within the performance element, starting with a tilt shot to start with all the band and their instruments, giving them an identity and connecting the two worlds within the video.
4)It then cuts to a shot of the band dressed up within the robber costumes, running away from something but that is unaware to the audience within this shot.
5) Then it switches to a medium shot of an angry policeman, and it becomes aware that this is who the band were running away from.
6) This represents the succession of shots of the robbers running away from the coppers, hiding and going through different locations in a comedic manner.
7/9) It then cross cuts between the silent film chase and the band performing the song with some lip syncing involved.
8) Close ups of the instruments and the band playing them to add to the performance element and make it more professional.
10)The robbers eventually outwit and get away from the policeman and leave him standing confused.
11) Cuts a shot of the band finishing the last note and putting all the instruments down, a tilt shot down and a longer shot to reflect the beginning.
12) The final shot of the band running down the road into the distance, a medium/long shot that fades at the end to smoothly finish the video.
